In 1906 Dovo Solingen or Dovo Steelware or Dovo was founded in Solingen, Germany. The name derives from the last names of the original founders Carl Dorp and Carl Arthur Voos. For over 100 years, DOVO Solingen have been producing shaving tools of the finest quality. Combining precision engineering, superior materials and meticulous craftsmanship, DOVO products have been built to stand the test of time and deliver years of unmatched service.
In 1996 the Merkur company was taken over by the larger Dovo company and it has played an important role in the re-emergence of Dovo as one of the world’s leading razor companies.
