About Proraso
Proraso was founded in 1908 by Ludovico Martelli in beautiful Florence and is the oldest manufacturer of barbershop products in Italy. In 1948 his son Piero Martelli invented the Pre-Shave cream which became an Italian barbershop staple.
Their products are all dermatologically tested, rich in natural vegetable extracts while free of colourants, parabens, silicones and animal ingredients.
Proraso has guarded its secret formula based on Eucalyptus Oil in a way that only a small family owned Italian business can, the recipe has been passed down from one generation to the next. Today, the company is run by the fourth generation and its mission has stayed the same, to make emblematic and highly specialised products, a complete shaving system.
